Short answer: Simply Sing is worth paying for if pitch feedback on songs you like is what keeps you practising, and you have already used the free version for about four weeks. It is not worth paying for if your problem is technique, breath or tone, because a pitch-scoring app shows you the result, not the cause.

We have not tracked the paid tier over months of use, so this page does not pretend to report long-term results. It gives you a decision rule and a test to run yourself. We do not quote Simply Sing prices because they change by country, platform and offer; the price screen inside the app is the only number to trust.

Is Simply Sing worth it? By type of learner

You are…Worth paying?Why
A beginner who drifts off pitchProbably, after the free testReal-time pitch feedback is the fastest way to hear the gap between what you think you sing and what you sing
Someone who needs a daily habitPossiblySongs, scores and streaks give a reason to open the app; that only helps if you keep opening it
A singer with tight, breathy or strained toneNo, not firstThe app scores pitch; it cannot hear tension or breath. Start with breath support
Someone who already sings in tuneNoYou would be paying for a solution to a problem you do not have
Someone who dislikes subscriptionsCheck alternativesA one-off course, free tools or a few lessons may fit better

Run this four-week free test first

Our companion page on whether Simply Sing is free explains what the free layer covers. Use it like an experiment, not a taster.

  • Week 1. Ten minutes a day on one song you know well. Note where the pitch line drifts: start of phrases, long notes or high notes.
  • Week 2. Repeat the same phrase until the line stays inside the target. Record yourself on your phone once for a plain-sound comparison.
  • Week 3. Try a second song. If you feel bored already, a bigger song library will not fix that.
  • Week 4. Ask two questions. Did you open the app on at least four days a week without forcing yourself? Did your pitch on the first song improve? Two yes answers make a subscription a reasonable bet. One or none means keep the money.

What to check before you subscribe

  • The price and billing period on the subscription screen, and the date any trial converts to paid.
  • How to cancel: subscriptions bought through an app store are cancelled in your Apple or Google account, not inside the app.
  • Whether the extra content you want (songs, lesson paths) is actually behind the paywall today, since the free and paid split changes with updates.

When a different route is better value

If the four-week test shows you can see your pitch problem but cannot fix it, you need instruction rather than more scoring. Options include a few one-to-one lessons (see what singing lessons cost), free video lessons (free online singing lessons) or a structured course you pay for once. Singorama is one such course; our Singorama review lists what we could and could not verify, including that its Trustpilot profile had no reviews when we checked and that we have not completed the course. Its cost is broken down in Singorama cost, and is Singorama legit covers the safety questions. The vendor offers a 60-day money-back guarantee; read the refund terms at checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Simply Sing worth it for beginners?

The free version is worth trying for every beginner. Paying is worth it only if the free test shows the feedback keeps you practising.

Will Simply Sing make me a better singer?

It can help you sing more accurately in pitch by showing errors as they happen. It does not teach breath support, register changes or vocal health, so it is one part of a plan, not the whole plan. See lessons vs apps vs YouTube.

Is Simply Sing better than Yousician?

They suit different people: Simply Sing is built around songs and pitch feedback, while Yousician is a wider multi-instrument platform. Our page on whether Yousician is worth it for singing and the best singing apps roundup compare them.
