Short answer: Yousician is worth paying for if you also want to learn an instrument such as guitar or piano and like levels, streaks and clear next steps. If you only want to sing, it is usually harder to justify, because the singing side is one path inside a platform built mainly around instruments and it gives pitch feedback rather than technique teaching.

We do not quote Yousician prices: they change by country, platform and offer, and we have not verified a current figure. The subscription screen inside the app is the number to trust. This page gives you a decision rule and a test to run yourself. Nobody on our team has completed a long-term Yousician programme, so treat this as a buying guide, not a long-term result.

Is Yousician worth it for singing? By type of learner

You are…Worth paying?Why
Learning an instrument as well as singingMost likelyOne subscription can cover more than one skill, which changes the maths versus a singing-only app
Motivated by levels and streaksPossiblyVisible progress keeps some people practising; it pushes others to rush
Only interested in singingTry free firstCompare it with a singing-only app before paying for breadth you will not use
Struggling with tone, breath or strainNo, not firstPitch feedback cannot hear tension or breath. See signs of vocal strain
Wanting a one-off purchaseLook elsewhereApps of this kind are subscription-led; a one-off course is a different model

Run a two-week test before paying

  • Days 1 to 7. Use the free access for ten minutes a day on the vocal path. Note whether the scoring feels helpful or stressful.
  • Days 8 to 14. Try one other path if you play an instrument. If you do not, ask honestly whether you would ever use it.
  • Decision. Pay only if you opened the app on most days without forcing yourself, and if you will use more than the singing path.

What to check before you subscribe

  • The price, billing period and the date any trial becomes a paid plan.
  • How to cancel: for app-store subscriptions this is done in your Apple or Google account.
  • Which features are free today and which are locked; the split changes with updates.

If singing is your only goal

Compare Yousician with a singing-only app in Simply Sing vs Yousician and is Simply Sing worth it, and read our own Yousician singing review. If what you need is instruction on technique, a structured course may fit better than either app. Singorama is one such course: our Singorama review lists what we could and could not verify (its Trustpilot profile had no reviews when we checked, and we have not completed it), Singorama cost covers the price, and is Singorama legit covers safety. The vendor offers a 60-day money-back guarantee; read the refund terms at checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Yousician good for learning to sing?

It can help with pitch accuracy and a regular practice habit. It is less suited to teaching breath support, tone and register changes, which need instruction or a teacher.

Is Yousician free?

It has been offered with limited free access alongside paid plans, but the free allowance and offers change. Check the app store listing and the in-app subscription screen for today’s terms.

Do I need headphones?

Wired headphones or earbuds help, because they stop the backing track leaking into the microphone and confusing pitch detection.
